First LTE 4G Phone Gains FCC Approval

The first rival of the WiMAX 4G smartphones have made its first appearance. The Samsung SCH-r900 for the MetroPCS LTE 4G network was announced at this year's CTIA and has gained a step closer to release. The first LTE 4G smartphone for the US market has graced the testing halls of the FCC.

Unfortunately, the FCC documents did not reveal much on the Samsung SCH-r900. They did indicate that it will offer Bluetooth, 802.11b/g WiFi, dual-band 1700 / 1900 LTE and EvDO data.

This upcoming LTE 4G device is expected to make its debut a limited market at the end of this summer.
